Braces & Invisalign

What are Fastbraces®?

Fast braces have been developed in America over the last 30 years though are relatively new to the UK. They are fixed to the teeth and treatment times average 2-5 months for the CLASSIC brackets. For those who are more concerned about the appearance they also come in CLEAR which are hardly noticeable at all. We Also offer FASTBRACES TURBO where treatment times can be measured in days. We have a case featured in the FASTBRACES brochures used by dentists worldwide that took just 76 days! Though several of our cases are used in the fast braces global marketing literature and also their scientific papers and textbooks.

Also all Fastbraces cases use only one wire from start to finish so no nasty painful tightening is necessary unlike conventional fixed braces.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Fast treatment

The major advantage of the Fastbraces system is comfort and efficiency of tooth movement with most treatment complete within 10 weeks to 10 months, while patients with less complex orthodontic prescriptions may be able to have their braces off after just three months.

No need to extract teeth

Fastbraces® have been designed with comfort in mind, and in most cases there is no need to extract teeth. This is especially beneficial for children and nervous patients, as the prospect of having teeth extracted can be daunting.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an invisible brace which uses removable, clear aligners to shift the teeth into alignment. The major benefit of Invisalign is the aligners being virtually invisible to others, so you can achieve a straight smile without anyone being able to notice that you are undergoing treatment.

The Invisalign system includes a number of clear aligners that are changed on a fortnightly basis to move the teeth into position. The aligners are shaped somewhat differently in accordance with the patient’s individual treatment plan. The aligners can be taken out but they should be worn for at least 20 hours per day for most favourable results.

How does it work?

Am I suitable?

Invisalign is suitable for many patients and can be beneficial for most age groups. However, it may not be suitable for complex orthodontic prescriptions. Invisalign is an effective treatment for the following orthodontic problems:

  • Overcrowding

  • Spaces between the teeth

  • Crossbite (when the teeth are misaligned because the lower and upper jaws are not in alignment)

  • Overbite (upper teeth protrude over the lower teeth)

  • Underbite (lower teeth protrude further than the upper teeth)

We will be able to assess if you are a suitable candidate for treatment during a consultation, but if you are not a suitable candidate we will recommend other treatments beside Invisalign based on our findings.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Discreet & improved appearance

The aligners are clear and removable so that patients can remain confident in their appearance and eat and drink what they want.

Flexibility

The flexibility of Invisalign also eradicates the problem of being unable to brush your teeth properly. The aligners are custom-made for the individual and there is no need for any adjustments or painful bands.
